Tulip Tree

Tulip Tree & Season

The Tulip Tree is one of our most sought-after tents – and with good reason! In fact, this tent is specifically designed for rental purposes. For a start, the Tulip Tree is a tunnel tent, which makes for a large interior space that allows for plenty of options for beds, a dining area, storage space, play area, and even a cooking set-up. In addition, the Tulip Tree is relatively easy to set up yourself. This gives you a lot of flexibility to decide when to set up and take down the tent yourself, giving you a lot of control over the weeks that you wish to rent out the tent. We have also spent significant time on making the tent rental-resistant: components such as the arched canopy and the storage space are sewn to the tent, the ground sheet zips at the door have been replaced with snaps, and the tent has fewer guy ropes without affecting storm resistance.

But perhaps most importantly, for many customers, the tent’s profitability is the main reason for choosing the Tulip Tree!

After 75 years of building tents and working with many campsite owners, we speak from experience when we say that placing tents requires custom work. Are you curious about what’s involved? We’d be happy to explain the ins and outs to you in more detail.

Choose the canvas that suits your rental needs

We offer the Tulip Tree in two types of canvas: cotton and, more recently, acrylic. The cotton version is made of De Waard’s favourite canvas type, which is 100% cotton. This has a breathing effect, ensuring a pleasant living environment and a non-stuffy tent. The canvas also has a moisture-regulating effect: moisture and condensation are efficiently wicked away, so wet gear inside the tent won’t be an issue.

The acrylic variant is made for areas where weather conditions play an even more important role. Although acrylic is a less breathable than cotton, it still has good breathability. The advantage of acrylic is that it is less susceptible to mould. Which tent suits you best, depends on your specific situation. Please contact us for no-obligation advice.

Lots of space, and therefore many possibilities

The strength of a tunnel tent lies in the many possibilities it offers. The walls of a tunnel tent slope up straighter, creating more space at the sides. This allows real beds to be installed and gives your guests a wonderfully comfortable night. The Tulip Tree has a large floor space with three sleeping compartments in the back and a large living area in the front with options for a seating and dining area. This living space is extended outside the tent thanks to the large, fixed arch canopy. The tent therefore offers more than enough space for six people.

Lots of flexibility as far as the period in which you rent out the tent is concerned

The Tulip Tree is based on the designs of a consumer tent. This means that the original design took into account that campers would pitch the tent themselves. This allows the Tulip Tree to be easily set up. This is not only convenient in terms of setting up and taking down the tent, but also gives you a lot of flexibility when you leave your tents up for a longer period of time. Turns out we’re getting a nice Indian summer after all? Then you can simply leave the tents in place and start dismantling them a few weeks later – and thus benefit from a few extra weeks of rental.

For six people, with either family or friends

Thanks to its spacious layout, the Tulip Tree offers space for six people. How luxurious you want to make the tent for renting out to guests is up to you. A pragmatic approach starts with enough beds, and a table with a few chairs. You can also opt for a more luxurious set-up, where you supply the tent with electricity and water.
